With the MAC 300 and the Optisens TSS 3000 and 7000 probes, Krohne has added two new optical total suspended solids (TSS) probes and a converter to its analytical portfolio.
The Optisens TSS 3000 is an optical total suspended solids probe for wastewater applications in various industries, with a 1 1/4 NPT thread that allows installation on a retractable immersion system. The Optisens TSS 7000 is an optical total suspended solids probe for hygienic applications with Tri-Clamp or Varivent process connections, e.g. for milk separation processes, fruit processing and other food applications. It is also suitable for hygienic concentration measurement in other process industries (e.g. for monitoring steam or cooling water circuits).
The Optisens TSS 3000 and 7000 are both glass-free optical probes with multiple beam lengths for various concentration ranges. They use a 4-beam alternating light technology for more reliable measurements compared to conventional 2-beam technologies. Two 880 Nm near infrared (NIR) LED light sources and two detectors compensate for most errors caused by deposits, aging, or variations in light source intensity. By measuring directly through the PP material layer, measurement errors and sealing problems usually caused by glass windows cannot occur. Both probes can be connected to the MAC 300 analysis converter.
The Mac 300 is a dedicated analysis converter compatible with Optisens TSS, pH/ORP and COND probes. Up to three different analysis probes can be connected to it. It then sends their signals to the control system via up to six 0/4...20 mA analog outputs, relay outputs or Modbus (optional). It features a backlit LCD display, a rugged enclosure (IP66/67, NEMA 4/4X) for wall or panel mounting, a real-time data logging option, and an SD card slot for saving settings or loading new programs.
