On the occasion of Smart Industries 2018 (March 27 to 30, 2018, Paris Nord Villepinte), the*Vinci Energies brand dedicated to industrial processes, presents three of its expertises and operational innovations to accelerate the transition to the industry of the future, both on process, maintenance and energy performance. From virtual reality for operators, to energy optimization for competitiveness, to compliance with data protection legislation, innovation must above all be operational. Focus on concrete applications put in place by committed players.

[Data] The growing role of cybersecurity
A unique partnership between Actemium, Axians and Sentryo

Sentryo and Actemium recently signed a partnership agreement with the aim of building a joint offering to meet the cybersecurity needs of industrial networks. This partnership will enable Actemium and Axians (the Vinci Energies brand dedicated to ICT solutions) to promote and distribute the ICS CyberVision offering to industrial companies that are increasingly sensitive to cybersecurity threats.

" Industrial systems are increasingly complex, interconnected, open and digitalized. These vulnerabilities have led to a sharp rise in the number of cyberattacks targeting industrial systems: +636 % in 2 years. It is now urgent for industrial players to get to grips with this issue, both to mitigate the growing risks and to comply with legislation. "explains Olivier Albessard, Actemium's Managing Director.

The ICS CyberVision solution provides in-depth knowledge of all network components, visibility of all communication flows and the ability to detect abnormal events.

This particularly comprehensive solution comprises three levels of service: audit (for inventory and reference), MCS (security maintenance contract) and MCO (operational maintenance contract).

[Process] The added value of virtual reality
The virtual factory to anticipate the factory of the future

Actemium deploys innovative virtual reality solutions for industrial site layout and modification projects.

Ahead of the construction of its formwork maintenance plant, Solumat called on Actemium to check the technical and economic feasibility of the project (automated cleaning of formwork prior to rental). The Actemium Poissy teams, in collaboration with Vinci Construction, decided to develop a 3D design of the plant, a true digital mock-up of the future site, allowing global visualization but above all easy sharing with all stakeholders:

  • no software or special skills required to manipulate the plan, making it easy to share the project;
  • ease of navigation in the virtual installation ;
  • easy modifications with real-time visualization of results.

Sharing the plan between the customer and design/integration teams ensured that all requirements were taken into account, from workstation ergonomics to congestion, flow and speed.

" Following simultaneous engineering and implementation of this application, the feasibility of the project was validated, and Actemium Poissy's teams were selected to design and build the automated panel cleaning system."explains Patrick Mariage, manager of Actemium Poissy.

[Energy] The effectiveness of energy audits
A systemic audit that puts things in the right order

Industrial processes account for two-thirds of all industrial energy consumption, and a detailed study of the process is essential if maximum savings are to be achieved. Rather than focusing solely on energy expenditure, Actemium's systemic energy audit focuses on the amount of energy required to produce the final product (known as the minimum energy requirement). This makes it possible to characterize the process in terms of energy and precisely quantify the energy savings achievable on each of the items analyzed, in order to prioritize the concrete solutions to be implemented; and above all to provide information on the performance margin available.

This audit highlights inefficiencies in the process, defines performance indicators useful for energy management, and enables manufacturers to take a fresh look at their production facilities - essential for implementing effective, quantifiable corrective actions in advance.

"The Smart Industrie seek to push industry towards a more environmentally virtuous model, while boosting its competitiveness. Far from being anecdotal, this item reveals benefits that are not always easy to discern, and a potential for improvement in processes, quality and competitiveness.. This deployment of an energy audit at one of our customers in the food industry, a major player in the cereals sector, was able to estimate its energy bill savings from 40 % to 60 % !"_ explains Paul Dède, energy efficiency engineer at Actemium.
