The Institut de Soudure group and the Ortec group have signed an agreement for the takeover of the Institut de Soudure from 1 January.er April 2018 of the NDT, NDT and metrology business of Orys, a subsidiary of the Ortec Group. This takeover confirms the Institut de Soudure Group's determination to pursue its development strategy in the nuclear market.
The Institut de Soudure Group present in all French regions of the nuclear sector
By taking over the NDT, NDT and metrology activities of Orys, the Institut de Soudure group completes its geographical coverage by establishing itself in the Centre-Val de Loire region, a major player in the nuclear sector, with 14 reactors in operation out of a total fleet of 58 reactors in France. The region also offers long-term visibility in terms of activity, as part of the "grand carénage" investment program over the 2014-2025 period. The takeover will also enable the Institut de Soudure group to broaden its offering, particularly in equipment calibration and verification services, by positioning itself in the metrology market.
A business recovery generating value for Institut de Soudure group customers
With this agreement, the Institut de Soudure Group is integrating into its workforce all 24 employees located at two sites, in Avoine near the Chinon power plant and in Ouzouer-sur-Loire near the Dampierre power plant. The Group will sign a commercial lease for these two sites, which will complete its territorial coverage in France. The transaction will enable the Group to acquire an additional customer portfolio and become a Tier 1 service provider for EDF. In addition, the business acquired has strong growth potential. Integration into the Institut de Soudure group will bring synergies, a more global offering and a strong positioning with local players in the boilermaking and industrial piping sectors.
