Trescal announces four new acquisitions worldwide: Vale Balanças in Sao Jose dos Campos (Brazil), Aicher Kalibrierdienst in Biberach (Germany), Atlas Copco's metrology business in Germany and Massachusetts Metrology in Boston (USA). These acquisitions will add around €6 million in revenues to the Group.
Four foreigners...
Created in 2009 in Sao Jose dos Campos, IPEM-accredited Vale Balanças offers metrology and maintenance services for scales up to 80 tonnes, and employs 7 people. Founders Ademir Pereira and Julio Cesar Moraes join Trescal.
Founded in 1997 and based in Biberach, Aicher Kalibrierdienst is a DakkS-accredited metrology laboratory specializing in the life sciences sector, and employs 10 people. Its founder and current CEO, Mr. Aicher, is staying on to help develop Trescal Germany's customer portfolio in the life sciences sector.
Atlas Copco's metrology business comprises 3 DakkS-accredited laboratories in Wetzlar, Kiel and Munich. These "one-stop-shop" laboratories have strong electrical and mechanical skills, and employ 36 people with sales of €3.5 million.
Founded in 1977 and based in the Boston area, Massachusetts Metrology is an A2LA-accredited laboratory specializing in temperature and pressure, in particular heat treatment to AMS 2750E standards specific to the aerospace industry. Massachusetts Metrology employs 8 people and operates in the aerospace, food and pharmaceutical sectors. Richard Rothstein, its current owner and CEO, will remain in his position to continue Trescal's development in the state of Massachusetts.
... and a Frenchman
The group also announces a takeover in France. It has acquired SFINT, an expert in temperature measurement.
Founded in 1972 and located in Marolles en Brie (94), SFINT employs 32 people and generates sales of 4 million euros. The company offers Cofrac-accredited laboratory metrology services. SFINT also offers its customers a range of temperature probes and sensors (thermocouples) manufactured in its own laboratory.
The company's Managing Director, Olivier Garçon, will remain in his position to continue the development of this entity within the Trescal Group. He comments: " We are delighted that SFINT is joining the Trescal group. Thanks to this merger, we intend to consolidate our national presence and accelerate our international development. It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that we look forward to our common future."
These are the 28e, 29e, 30e, 31e and 32e acquisition since the purchase of Trescal by Ardian in July 2013.
