RS Components (RS) has announced a major expansion of its RS Pro range of test and measurement equipment, with the launch of a number of new instruments: data loggers connected to the Cloud via Wi-Fi, an electrical installation tester, a rugged multimeter, gas leak detectors, as well as humidity, pressure and particle meters.
The new PRO-MOTE Wi-Fi series data loggersintegrated into a compact, waterproof housing, feature one or two channels for connection to a range of probes for temperature and humidity monitoring. These devices, which communicate via Wi-Fi and offer up to two years' battery life, are easily configured from a smartphone application.
PRO-MOTE data loggers are ideal for monitoring temperature and humidity in refrigeration or storage units. They can record and upload collected data to the EasyLog Cloud platform. Temperature and humidity measurements can thus be transmitted wirelessly, recorded and viewed remotely via the EasyLog app from a web browser, smartphone or tablet. Alarm thresholds can be configured to alert you to any exceedance. The EL-Mote range of data logger accessories is also available from RS, including external probes for temperature and humidity measurement, and a dedicated power supply.
A multifunction installation tester rugged 3.5" color LCD display measures insulation resistance, ground resistance, loop impedance and voltage. It can perform Residual Current Detection (RCD), Prospective Fault Current (PFC) and Prospective Short Circuit (PSC) tests. The instrument is designed for testing domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations, to ensure correct installation of electrical wiring.
The True-RMS digital multimeter (true rms value) is one of the other robust, portable instruments in the range. It is ideally suited to use in harsh environments such as food processing or other heavy industries. It is a Class II, IP67-rated 6000-point multimeter, housed in a double molded enclosure. Complying with CAT III/IV safety category requirements and featuring inputs supporting maximum voltages of 1000V AC/DC and maximum currents of 10A, this instrument offers key test and measurement functions: current/voltage, resistance, continuity, capacitance, frequency, duty cycle, temperature, and diode.
The extensive range of RS Pro instruments is also complemented by a variety of Coax and LAN testersA network tester for coaxial and RJ45 cables, RJ12/11 and a set of amplification probes for rapid identification and location of cables or wires within a bundle, and for checking the operation of telephone lines.
Finally, a range of environmental sensors is also announced, including a gas detector for locating combustible gases such as methane, propane and butane, a series of portable manometers designed for routine maintenance operations, two particle counters perfectly suited to maintenance professionals who need to measure indoor air quality, and a range of non-invasive tools for monitoring moisture in wood and other building materials.
Available now from RS in the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions, all these products join recently announced instruments in the RS Pro range, including a scopemeter that combines the functions of a true-RMS digital multimeter with those of an oscilloscope, and a family of digital oscilloscopes with two 20 MHz channels.
