Balometers (capture caps) are essential instruments for determining ambient air quality in public and private buildings, and in general in all HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioned) systems. They are particularly well-suited to EN ISO 14644 verification in clean rooms, sterile rooms, hospitals, operating theatres, etc.
The accredited calibration of a balometer is therefore a guarantee of quality and of the correct performance of the elements that ensure good ventilation and air renewal in these premises, a key aspect in many applications.
There are very few laboratories that calibrate balometers, and even fewer that have received official accreditation for their calibrations. For example, not all European countries have laboratories with such accreditation.
The Wika Group's Cat laboratory in Barcelona is now one of the few laboratories accredited (by Enac, Cofrac equivalence in France) to calibrate balometers in accordance with Iso/IEC 17025: 2017.
Calibration capacity covers equipment from 40 m3/h to 4500 m3/h suction and impulse.
With this new accreditation, the Cat laboratory strengthens the capabilities of Wika's calibration laboratories in Europe, particularly in Southern Europe. The laboratories in France, Italy, Spain and, of course, the head office in Germany, cover local needs and also provide calibration services for customers in other, often neighbouring, countries, depending on the type of service to be provided and the expertise required to carry it out. This will be the case, for example, for balometer operators looking for an accredited calibration, who can contact the Cat laboratory.
Calibrations in pressure, temperature, humidity, force, level, length, air speed, flow, electricity, mass, balometers, global instrument calibration management contracts: the spectrum of services offered by the Wika Group, to guarantee manufacturers the performance of their measuring instruments and therefore their processes, has never been so broad.
