80% of the quality problems of the electrical network come from the installation itself. Using theValencia Algorithm,a patented algorithm included in the Fluke 430 Series II Energy Meters, you can identify the causes of these problems and automatically calculate what electrical waste costs you.
In collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in Spain, Fluke® has developed the Fluke 430 Series II Energy Analyzers, quality analyzers for the three-phase electrical network with the unique characteristic of valuing the additional cost of energy waste due to poor quality of the electrical network.
In addition to their EnergiMeter functionality that makes the Fluke 430 Series II essential for first-level troubleshooting, predictive maintenance and long-term power quality analysis, these instruments have benefited from an advancement extraordinary achievement at the University of Valencia: Fluke Energy Meters are now able to calculate the cost of energy losses linked to inefficient electrical systems.
The quality of the electrical network is generally defined as the voltage allowing the safe and continuous operation of equipment connected to a power source. However, 80% of the quality problems of the electrical network come from the installation itself . Failures may be due to power quality problems such as imbalances or harmonics, poor electrical installation, damaged wiring, or improper grounding.
In search of the perfect measurement, researchers have developed since the 1940s formulas for measuring the quality of the electrical network. More recently, professors Vicente Leòn-Martinez and Joaquìn Montañana-Romeu from the University of Valencia, Spain, decided to integrate energy loss into their research. “ We formed the research team in 1996 with the aim of explaining how electrical systems work in order to make them as efficient as possible, ” explains Vicente Leòn-Martinez. And Joaquìn Montañana-Romeu adds: “ If we know the amount of energy lost, we are able to predict the savings that will be made. There is nothing like it on the market ”. This was the genesis of the Valence Algorithm .
The University of Valencia and Fluke, Inc. have worked together to support professionals in the industry. Thus, not only will the Fluke 430 Series II Energy Meters be able to analyze the quality of the electrical network, but they can also calculate the energy loss linked to poor quality of the electrical network, and quantify this loss in order to help find suitable solutions. for the elimination of these problems.
Ultimately, facilities are more efficient and businesses save money .
