Quantum RX announces the launch of the world's first "double purge" Libs analyzer with air and/or argon modes: the Z-9 from American manufacturer SciAps. It is distinguished by its flexibility, enabling it to meet the essential needs of the metals industry for sorting aluminum alloys, titanium and stainless steels. In standard mode, the Z-9 performs the majority of analyses, under air, for 6 alloy bases (Al, Ti, stainless steels, Fe, Ni and Cu). In particular, it can detect up to 10 ppm Be contamination in aluminum and copper alloys. In argon mode, the optional addition of an argon purge enables more precise analysis of more difficult materials. In this configuration, the Z-9 can measure up to 10 ppm B in aluminum. Calibrations for analysis with air and/or argon purge are built in as standard, so the operator can switch seamlessly from one analysis method to another.
The Z-9 analyzer is the 3e generation Libs from SciAps, the world's leading specialist in portable Libs. It performs its analyses in just 1 second. It is lighter than other Libs analyzers in its range, weighing just 1.8 kg with battery, and measuring 25 x 5 x 20 cm. It is approved for use in Class 1 conditions (with safety features activated).
The Z-9 comes with a library of 500 alloy shades, which can be expanded or modified at any time.
In terms of equipment, it features an internal camera combined with a flatter front plate for analysis of curved or irregular surfaces. The camera is accompanied by a laser sight to point the sample. An additional micro-camera is used for barcode reading and photo-documentation for report generation. The high-brightness 2.7" color touchscreen is rear-facing for easy reading. The analyzer is connected (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB ports) and runs Android for data export.
