Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division has launched a new multi-sensor coordinate measuring machine (CMM), which streamlines smart manufacturing by providing cost-effective access to automated measurement. Fully compatible with a series of intelligent technologies from Hexagon, Optiv Lite 3.2.2 is a CMM designed to successfully switch from a manual quality assurance method, to automatic procedures, which offer the possibility of performing more precise inspections , more reliable and more efficient. In addition, CMM interfaces with complete manufacturing solutions to improve processes and products in a more efficient way than conventional entry-level machines.

The Optiv Lite 3.2.2 CMM has been designed to quickly and accurately measure small parts in touchless and non-contact mode in a variety of areas including the electronics industry, eMobility, precision engineering and medical sector. Offering full traceability of measurement results and a simplified interface for user-friendly use, the Optiv Lite 3.2.2 CMM is, according to Hexagon, ideal for manufacturers who wish to apply automated inspection procedures or fulfill new production requirements.

Optiv Lite 3.2.2 is a CMM optimized for reliable inspections in manufacturing environments, thanks to its rugged mechanical design, high performance dynamic characteristics and ability to perform accurate measurements over a wide temperature range. This light machine is distinguished by great compactness and excellent precision. It is, among other things, equipped with a motorized 6x magnification lens and a high resolution digital color camera. The HP-TM touch trigger probe and the HR-MP probe changer, which can accommodate up to three probe modules, are optional accessories that expand the field of application of CMM. Other options include a laser triangulation sensor and an indexable turntable.

PC-DMIS metrology software is supplied as standard with the Optiv Lite 3.2.2 CMM. The stand-alone Inspect application provides additional convenience and makes it very easy for operators in the manufacturing unit to perform measurements with a simple standard control interface. Users can monitor system status remotely with HxGN SFx | Asset Management, which enables quality assurance teams to optimize CMM performance and minimize downtime.

"Industrial companies of all sizes, and active in all sectors, are looking for data-driven insights that make manufacturing smarter ," said Dr Tobias M. Weber, Vision Product Manager in Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division. Optiv Lite 3.2.2 is not just affordable basic equipment for accessing automated metrology. This CMM enables manufacturers to keep pace with the rapid evolution towards smart manufacturing and improve their processes to optimize cost management, while achieving reliable and rapid inspection results.
