With its new TP 37450E.2 and TP 37450E.2i portable calibrators, Sika speeds up the calibration process for temperature sensors. The large volume of their 60 x 150 mm enclosure means that several temperature sensors can be calibrated simultaneously (with the same compact equipment) up to 450°C. What's more, the patented ventilation system guarantees very short temperature rise and fall times, significantly reducing the time spent on checks.
Heating time is just 17 minutes to stabilize the calibrator at 450°C, while the enclosure is cooled down to room temperature in just 36 minutes. The direct dry-well aeration system, developed by SIKA and integrated for the first time in the TP 37450E.2, quite simply achieves the fastest cooling times on the portable temperature calibrator market. This, in turn, leads to a significant reduction in the cost of the test point.
However, such productivity gains are not achieved at the expense of measurement performance. These multi-function dry-wells maintain their high-level measurement characteristics. In particular, they offer a display accuracy of ± 0.2°C with a stability of ± 0.010°C. What's more, they feature a 7″ LCD industrial touch screen, via which the user is guided through his task by an intuitive menu tree. This simplifies and speeds up the checking of a large number of sensors with a single instrument.
Drawing on its 40 years of expertise in the field, Sika is thus pushing back the limits of the typical temperatures supported by most calibrators on the market (which until now have not exceeded 350°C) to 450°C.
According to Sika, this makes the TP 37450E.2 the only multifunction calibrator for checking various temperature probes in the medium temperature segment. In addition to dry block testing, it can also be used to calibrate infrared thermometers and surface probes. A single device is therefore needed for a variety of configurations, saving space and reducing hardware investment.
