Contrôle Mesure Systèmes is a French company that has been designing and manufacturing non-destructive testing systems for almost 35 years.
Specializing in eddy current and ultrasonic testing, the company combines these two complementary methods in test benches that can be integrated directly into production lines. It also offers off-line inspection solutions.
Contrôle Mesure Systèmes has recently delivered two complete inspection benches combining these two CF + US inspection methods for the inspection of welded rolled steel tubes with diameters ranging from 10 to 60 millimeters.
The two encircling-coil eddy-current units installed on each test bench enable grade sorting with sigma phase detection, as well as health control with detection of surface and sub-surface point defects. The reference defects used are through and external longitudinal notches.
Ultrasonic testing using a rotating head (RotoUTscan) complements these CF tests, enabling material health checks to be carried out with the detection of internal and external defects, as well as high-precision dimensional measurements. The reference defects used are internal and external longitudinal and transverse notches 5 % WT deep.
As for dimensional measurement, the system enables measurements such as ID/ OD/WT (internal and external diameter and thickness) with accuracies of up to 4 mm.
On this test bench, the integration of Probus software, developed by Contrôle Mesure Systèmes, enables production to be monitored. Probus collects analog signals from NDT equipment and is capable of controlling line actuators. The software communicates directly with the test bench's automation system, acting as a man-machine interface to control tube sorting and marking. It also ensures production traceability, with the creation of inspection reports by product or by batch.
To enable even more advanced production monitoring, a second software package called Probus Viewer Analyser has been developed for re-visualizing signals acquired during previous checks. The graphical options included in the software will enable the operator to carry out an in-depth analysis of each strip chart using zooms or cursors.
Contrôle Mesure Systèmes offers turnkey non-destructive testing systems incorporating its own testing equipment.
