Control Measurement Systems is a French company that has been designing and manufacturing non-destructive control systems for nearly 35 years.
Specializing in Foucault currents and ultrasound, the company combines these two complementary methods in control benches that can be integrated directly on the production line. It also offers offline control solutions.
Control Measurement Systems recently delivered two complete inspection benches combining these two CF-US control methods for the control of welded rolled steel tubes of diameters ranging from 10 to 60 millimetres.
Foucault's two common encircling coil equipment installed on each bench allows for a sorting of shades with sigma phase detection as well as a healthy control with the detection of surface and sub-surfacic defects. The reference defects used are cross-shaped and external longitudinal notch.
The rotating head ultrasound control (RotoUTscan) complements these CF controls and allows for a healthy material control with the detection of internal and external defects and also allows to carry out dimensional measurements with great precision. The reference defects used are internal and external 5% WT depth longitudinal and external notches.
As for dimensional measurement, the system allows measurements such as ID/ OD/WT (internal and external diameter and thickness) with accuracy of up to 4 mm.
On this bench, the integration of the Probus software, developed by Control Measurement Systems, offers a follow-up of production. Probus collects analog signals from NDT equipment and is able to control the line's actuators. The software interacts directly with the automation of the control bench, which it serves as a man-machine interface to control the sorting of the tubes and their marking. It also ensures the traceability of production with the creation of inspection reports by products or batches.
In order to allow even more detailed production monitoring, a second software called Probus Viewer Analyser has been developed for the re-visualization of signals acquired during previous controls. The graphics options included in the software will allow the operator to perform an in-depth analysis of each Strip chart using zooms or cursors.
Control Measurement Systems offers turnkey, non-destructive control systems that integrate its own control equipment.
