Micro-Epsilon's optoNCDT 1900LL sensors are designed for distance measurement on metal and structured surfaces. These sensors use a small laser line to achieve accurate measurements on non-homogeneous surfaces.
Primarily used in factory automation, electronics manufacturing, robotics and the automotive industry, these sensors solve highly accurate measurement tasks on metal, rough and structured surfaces in the 10mm and 25mm measurement ranges.
A specific lens of cylindrical shape widens the ordinary light spot into a spot of oval light. The calculation of the optical average through the light spot compensates for the inequalities of the surface. In addition, intelligent algorithms optimize the signal.
This laser line reveals its main asset with measurement tasks with pure distance change in the Z direction. With movements in the X or Y directions, these models also provide more stable measurement values than comparable point sensors.
Another peculiarity is found in the combination of compact size, high speed and high precision. The sensors are extremely dynamic with a high measurement frequency, incomparable immunity to ambient light as well as a very fast exposure setting.
