Productronica, the world's leading trade fair for electronics development and production, will be held from 16 to 19 November in Munich. Rohde & Schwarz will present its equipment for testing and measuring the latest generation technologies such as automotive radars, satellite communications, Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. Rohde & Schwarz's solutions meet the requirements of production environments where high throughput and low cost are essential. Visitors to the trade show will be able to discover cutting-edge solutions.
The all-new R&S FSPN phase noise analyzer and VCO tester offers a unique combination of performance and ease of use. Thanks to its level of sensitivity, accuracy and reliability, it enables fast real-time phase noise measurements on sources for demanding wireless and RF applications requiring high stability. Rohde & Schwarz offers two variants of its R&S FSPN analyzer. Both models cover frequency ranges from 1 MHz to 8 GHz and from 1 MHz to 26.5 GHz respectively. The instrument is intended for development and production engineers who wish to characterize sources such as synthesizers, VCO, OCXO and DRO used by radar and satellite applications in the C-band, X-band, Ku-band and the entire K-band.
The company also presents several test solutions for customers in the automotive industry. The new R&S RTS radar test system generates complete radiated driving scenarios to test Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) using radars and radar sensors in autonomous vehicles (AD). It is distinguished by its ability to test objects moving laterally in relation to the vehicle's trajectory. The solution consists of the new R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator used as a backend and the R&S QAT100 antenna array used as the frontend. Objects cutting off the vehicle's trajectory can be simulated by electronically activating and disabling each antenna independently from the front interface. Thus, the tests currently carried out on the road in real conditions can now be carried out in the laboratory. This makes it possible to detect malfunctions at an early stage of development and to achieve significant savings.
For its part, the Rohde & Schwarz R&S QAR50 system offers the possibility of testing radomes and bumpers in production. Its innovative design allows it to deliver measurements in a very short time with precision and repeatability for an extremely attractive price/performance ratio. The high software modularity makes it possible to adapt the system to specific requirements.
Rohde & Schwarz will also present the R&S RTO6 range, the third generation of its family of oscilloscopes that has proven themselves in the field. With its reinvented user interface, 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen and intuitive operating logic, the instrument makes it possible to make a wide variety of measurements faster. It will be the subject of several application demonstrations during the productronica show. With its 6 GHz bandwidth, the R&S RTO6 is ideal for analyzing automotive radar signals in the frequency range of 71 GHz to 81 GHz. In order to increase productivity, up to four objects under test can be measured in parallel. Also on the way will be the MultiGBASE-T1 (IEEE 802.3ch) compliance testing tools, which, by meeting expectations for high-speed connectivity and data exchange in vehicles, is the next evolution of automotive Ethernet. Rohde & Schwarz's easy-to-use compliance testing solution guides the user through the test process and provides highly detailed test reports.
Test and measurement equipment for the latest wireless communication technologies, such as the new R&S CMP180 radiocommunication tester, will also be on presentation at the Rohde & Schwarz stand. This next-generation tester integrated into a single package covers a frequency range up to 8 GHz and supports multiple cellular and non-cellular signals and technologies. With its two independent RF channels and 16 RF ports, it can test up to 16 devices in parallel. This perfectly adapts it for use on production lines in volume as well as during R&D phases. At Productronica, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate this new platform for testing Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 technologies.
The high transmission capacity, responsiveness and flexibility of 5G communication technologies enable the implementation of a series of new real-time use cases as well as the deployment of private wireless networks in smart factories. The coverage, latency and reliability requirements of 5G applications can pose challenges for network planners and operators during deployment. Rohde & Schwarz's 5G on-site testing solution (R&S 5G STS) is an integrated test solution that is ideally suited to this industry. The combined use of proven instruments offers all the functional, RF and signaling tests required for the installation of 5G campus network base stations and their troubleshooting during their operation.
Visitors will also be able to find out about the electronic production services offered by the group. The Rohde & Schwarz plant in Memmingen offers a variety of production services in the field of high-precision electronic components. Teisnach offers services in the mechanical field: assembly, 3D printing and manufacture of waveguides and precision mechanical parts.
