Productronica, the world's leading trade fair for electronics development and production, will be held from November 16 to 19 in Munich. Rohde & Schwarz will present its equipment for testing and measuring the latest technologies such as automotive radar, satellite communications, Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. Rohde & Schwarz solutions meet the requirements of production environments where high data rates and low cost are essential. Visitors to the trade show will be able to see the cutting-edge solutions.
The all-new R&S FSPN phase noise analyzer and VCO tester offers a unique combination of performance and ease of use. With its high level of sensitivity, accuracy and reliability, it enables fast real-time phase noise measurements on sources for demanding wireless and RF applications requiring high stability. Rohde & Schwarz offers two variants of its R&S FSPN analyzer. The two models cover the frequency ranges from 1 MHz to 8 GHz and from 1 MHz to 26.5 GHz, respectively. The instrument is intended for development and production engineers who want to characterize sources such as synthesizers, VCOs, OCXOs and DROs used by radar and satellite applications in the C-band, X-band, Ku-band and the entire K-band.
The company is also presenting several test solutions for customers in the automotive industry. The new R&S RTS radar test system can be used to generate complete radiated driving scenarios for testing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that use radar and radar sensors in autonomous vehicles (AD). It is distinguished by its ability to test objects moving laterally to the vehicle path. The solution consists of the new R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator as a backend and the R&S QAT100 antenna array as a frontend. Objects intersecting the vehicle path can be simulated by electronically switching each antenna on and off independently from the frontend. Thus, tests that are currently performed on the road under real conditions can now be performed in the laboratory. This allows malfunctions to be detected at an early stage of development and significant savings to be made.
The R&S QAR50 system from Rohde & Schwarz offers the possibility of testing radomes and bumpers in production. Its innovative design enables it to deliver measurements in a very short time with precision and repeatability at an extremely attractive price/performance ratio. The high software modularity allows the system to be adapted to specific requirements.
Rohde & Schwarz will also present the R&S RTO6 series, the third generation of its field-proven oscilloscope family. With its redesigned user interface, 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen and intuitive operating logic, the instrument makes it possible to perform a wide variety of measurements faster. It will be featured in several application demonstrations during productronica. With its 6 GHz bandwidth, the R&S RTO6 is ideal for analyzing automotive radar signals in the 71 GHz to 81 GHz frequency range. To increase productivity, up to four DUTs can be measured in parallel. Also on display will be tools for testing compliance with the MultiGBASE-T1 (IEEE 802.3ch) standard, which addresses the need for high-speed connectivity and data exchange in vehicles and is the next evolution of automotive Ethernet. The Rohde & Schwarz compliance test solution is easy to use, guides the user through the test procedure and provides detailed test reports.
Test and measurement equipment for the latest wireless communication technologies, such as the new R&S CMP180 radio communication tester, will also be presented at the Rohde & Schwarz booth. This next-generation tester in a single housing covers a frequency range up to 8 GHz and supports multiple cellular and non-cellular signals and technologies. With its two independent RF channels and 16 RF ports, it can test up to 16 devices in parallel. This makes it ideally suited for use on high-volume production lines as well as in the R&D phase. At Productronica, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate the new platform for testing Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 technologies.
The high transmission capacity, responsiveness and flexibility of 5G communication technologies enable a range of new real-time use cases as well as the deployment of private wireless networks in smart factories. The coverage, latency and reliability requirements of 5G applications, can pose challenges for network planners and operators when deploying them. The 5G field test solution (R&S 5G STS) from Rohde & Schwarz provides an integrated test solution that is ideally suited to this industry. The combined use of proven instruments offers all the functional, RF and signaling tests required for the installation of 5G campus network base stations and their troubleshooting during operation.
Visitors will also be able to find out about the electronics production services offered by the group. The Rohde & Schwarz plant in Memmingen offers a variety of production services in the field of high-precision electronic components. The plant in Teisnach offers services in the mechanical field: assembly, 3D printing and manufacturing of waveguides and precision mechanical parts.
