Preciv software enables specialized users in the production, quality control and inspection sectors to perform accurate and repeatable 2D measurements and obtain results that comply with the latest industry standards. With its high level of security and advanced data sharing features, Preciv software improves the speed and efficiency of your microscopy analysis.
Take control of your microscope
Preciv software turns any handheld microscope into a complete imaging and measurement platform. The software can control all standard Olympus industrial microscopes, their coded functions, Olympus motorized lens turrets and Olympus digital microscope cameras. It supports brightfield, darkfield and polarized light imaging modes, combined directional darkfield observation mode (MIX) and interference contrast (DIC). In addition, its color rendering and high resolution allow for high quality images.
Easy to use measuring tools
The software's intuitive interface features a navigation tab that groups the different functions of the software (observation, acquisition, measurement, etc.) with clearly identified buttons. Advanced settings remain hidden for new users, while experienced users can easily access all available settings and functions. The home screen can be customized to quickly access the most used parameters and functions.
Repetitive 2D measurements
Preciv software enables accurate and repeatable two-dimensional measurements on a live or recorded image. Advanced features such as automatic edge detection* (to reliably measure the distance between two points), auxiliary lines* (to easily perform complex geometric measurements) and the magic wand function (to automatically detect areas on the sample) allow users to obtain reliable data.
It is also simple to obtain perfectly focused images beyond the microscope's field of view. The Extended Depth of Field (EFI) imaging function allows users to acquire multiple images in succession at different focal planes, while the panoramic function allows users to move the stage over the entire specimen and then stitch the individual images together into one large image. Preciv software now allows you to combine the EFI snapshot and panning functions while keeping both hands on the microscope.
For advanced uses such as grain size analysis and non-metallic inclusions, optional material features guide users through every step necessary to acquire measurements that comply with the latest international standards, including ISO, ASTM and JIS.
Connectivity for efficiency
Preciv software has powerful data sharing and security features.** Using a connected workstation, users can easily save images and configuration files to the cloud or a network drive, receive automatic software updates and security patches, use a floating license and upgrade to new versions. Images can be saved and loaded in multiple formats, or saved in JPEG format with corresponding calibration information for traceability purposes. Sharing methods and configuration files (measurements, image processing parameters, material solution parameters, etc.) between connected workstations makes it quick and easy to get the right information to the right person.
* Available with Preciv Pro and Preciv Desktop.
** Olympus can provide a Manufacturer's Statement on Medical Device Security (MDS²) dedicated to the NIST cybersecurity framework.
