To meet the growing demand for uninterrupted data, Vaisala, a global specialist in weather, environmental and industrial measurements, is expanding its product portfolio for data centers by launching a new type of Vaisala TMI110 immersive temperature transmitter.
Vaisala instruments monitor data center conditions and energy efficiency, which are critical factors in the digital environment. Due to the large concentration of computer hardware in one place, data centers must be kept at low temperatures and protected from external and internal environmental influences. As a result, data centers consume significant amounts of energy.
"The new Vaisala TMI110 completes Vaisala's product line for data centers. It is an excellent complement to our range of measuring instruments for data centers that allows our customers to now source all their most important sensors from a single supplier: air temperature, humidity and differential pressure sensors for premises and ducts, weather sensors for outdoor weather, and now immersive temperature sensors for cooling systems." says Vaisala's product manager, Anu Kätkä.
"Cooling is essential to keep the temperature and humidity at an optimal level and ensure the reliability of the servers. The accuracy of the TMI110 is ± 0.1°C, which is great news for data center operators and the environment. Even the smallest variation in cooling temperature can have a significant impact on the overall operating costs and environmental footprint of energy-intensive data centers," concludes Anu Kätkä.
The new Vaisala TMI110 immersive temperature transmitter comes with a calibration certificate and offers excellent response time. The product will be available in the first quarter of 2022.
