The innovative ODT 3C sensor from Leuze is capable of performing both measuring and switching tasks. This new 2-in-1 solution is therefore suitable for a wide range of automated industrial applications.
Is there an object on the conveyor belt? If so, what is its position or distance from the machine? These are typical questions for a wide range of industrial applications and processes. Previously, system operators solved this problem using multiple sensors.
Now only one device can be used: the innovative ODT 3C sensor from Leuze transmits switching and measuring information to the machine control system, making it an efficient and economical 2-in-1 solution.
Flexible with one sensor
The ODT 3C transmits detailed measurement values and diagnostic data via IO-Link. This data includes temperature values, warnings and signal quality. It has an impressive black and white behavior (< ± 3 millimeters at 150 millimeters). The operating range is easily adjusted via teach button, line or IO-Link. The new sensor from Leuze also offers impressive operational reliability: Active ambient light suppression prevents incorrect switching, even in direct light from LED hall lighting systems. The status of the ODT 3C can be quickly read off via clearly visible LEDs on all sides. Two independent switching outputs and sensor models with a warning output or a small light spot (pinpoint) complete the sensor functions. This allows plant operators to use the ODT 3C flexibly in a wide range of applications.
