Cetim, a Carnot-accredited mechanical engineering technological institute, obtains Cofrac* accreditation for the calibration of standard parts and inspection jigs on three-dimensional measuring machines.
Incorrect measurements are bound to have serious consequences, particularly in financial terms... Not to mention the loss of confidence. To be certain that the results obtained are correct is therefore essential, and the use of standards and gauges is a must.
Nevertheless, these two types of parts also need to be calibrated. Calibration covered by Cofrac accreditation ensures traceability of measurement results to the international system of units. Standard parts also enable manufacturers to use conventional values to assess the capabilities of their various measuring equipment.
Since March 3, 2022, Cetim has been able to provide this new service with Cofrac Calibration accreditation no. 2-1114 for calibrations carried out on coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
ISO 17025 accreditation by Cofrac guarantees the assessment of measurement uncertainties, as well as the impartiality and competence of the laboratory in complying with ISO GPS standards when calculating measurement results.
In addition to recognition in many countries, the calibration certificate can facilitate trade and give access to new markets.
