During the coating process of anodic and cathode materials, the thickness of the film and coating, the purity and quality of the surface are decisive parameters for the quality of the final product. Micro-Epsilon's thicknessgauge in-line measurement system monitors the thickness of the wet coating with an accuracy of <±1 μm pour une épaisseur d’objet de 150 à 500 µm. Le système se compose d’une unité linéaire avec entraînement électromécanique, de deux capteurs de distance confocaux-chromatiques, d’une unité de calibrage automatique et d’un panneau IPC multi-touch.
The high accuracy and measurement speed up to 5 kHz allow for fully automated thickness measurement during production. The sensors measure the surface of the material on two sides using the differential method. The distance between the sensors is determined continuously by automatic calibration on a reference target. The thickness of the material is calculated from the distance between the sensors as well as the two distance values. The high resolution of the confocal sensors makes it possible to measure minimal thickness differences. Thicknessgauge can be used for measuring fixed tracks, for example to determine the central thickness or thickness measurement on the edges. The displacement of the thicknessgauge on the strip via the linear axis, makes it possible to determine the complete transverse profile by crossing. Thickness measurements up to 400 m of bandwidth can be made per crossing.
