Controlling energy consumption calls for the use of high-performance products that are adapted to their environment: Phoenix Contact's new open meters and transformers broaden the range of installation options with excellent measurement accuracy.
Phoenix Contact completes its offer for the commercial sector with two new Mid-approved energy meters. These new EEM-DM357-70 and EEM-AM157-70 meters enable energy measurement in the most demanding environments, with operating temperatures of up to 70°C, ideal for boiler rooms or electric vehicle charging stations. The former enables monitoring on three-phase networks, while the latter is suitable for single-phase networks.
Equipped with a Modbus/RTU interface on RS-485, they can be easily integrated into BMS systems. Simple to use, this new generation of meters enables measurement by direct line connection, without the need for a current transformer or any other accessory. 2022 is also the year in which Phoenix Contact's offer for cabinet renovation is extended.
It's often essential to be able to attach to existing busbars or cables without dismantling them. Whereas in the past, only Rogowski coils were available for this type of situation, opening current transformers are now available in three ratings (20A, 50A and 100A) for maximum precision. They accept cables up to 13mm in diameter. The range is now complete for precise energy measurements on networks with currents ranging from less than 1A to 4,000A.
Today, Phoenix Contact offers a wide range of tools for measuring and monitoring energy consumption, including dataloggers with modern communication interfaces such as Profinet and EtherNet/IP for direct connection to PLCs or office software such as Excel via an Api Rest, Mid-approved energy meters for electricity billing, and voltage converters for voltages above 690V.
All these tools are complemented by energy management software hosted in the Cloud:
Emma's key assets are
- clear, intuitive dashboards and reports,
- programmable alerts to detect overconsumption without report analysis
- advanced management of users and administrators via the User Management service.
These energy measurement solutions are designed for both end-users and integrators: simple, intuitive implementation for all.
Phoenix Contact also has many years of expertise in energy measurement in both the commercial and industrial sectors.
Today, this expertise is shared through webinars focusing on three themes: energy measurement and regulation in commercial buildings, energy measurement and regulation in industry, and energy measurement in machinery.
After a session which ended on October 4, these webinars will be repeated in the first quarter of 2023.
