Ideal for digital multimeters with 6.5-digit resolution, Fluke Calibration's 5560A is complemented by the powerful new 5550A multi-product calibrator (5.5 digits) and the 5540A multi-product calibrator (4.5 digits), enabling laboratories to improve accuracy while reducing costs and freeing up bench space.
Fluke, the world's technology leader in the production of compact, professional electronic test and measurement tools and software, has introduced its Fluke 5560A high-performance multi-product calibration instrument, which offers the widest spectrum of use and the highest accuracy.
Responding to the high-end market demand for multi-product calibration devices, the 5560A fits perfectly into the Fluke range, just ahead of the multi-functional, high-precision 5730A calibration device, designed for calibrating digital multimeters with 8.5-digit resolution. The 5560A is an ideal solution for calibrating digital multimeters (or DMMs, for Digital Multi-Meter) up to 6.5 digits.
With demand for calibration increasing every year, the Fluke 5560A is the archetype of a new class of multi-product calibration devices aimed at new, inexperienced users who join the calibration business without much training. Key features of the Fluke 5560A include a large 7-inch touchscreen for intuitive operation, Visual Connection Management™ terminals and an optional accessory for efficient calibration of digital multimeters with minimal, if any, cord changes. This rugged, portable calibration device can also be automated using Met/Cal calibration management software.
Key benefits of the 5560A include fast set-up and low maintenance, as well as the ability to calibrate a wider range of equipment with the same instrument. All these elements contribute to a considerable reduction in the cost of ownership for calibration laboratories. The 5560A is also protected against potentially costly damage caused by incoming voltages or abnormal overloads.
In order to offer calibration laboratories a new generation of advanced tools, Fluke Calibration is also launching the 5550A multi-product calibration instrument, which is an improvement on the highly popular 5522A, to better meet existing DMM workloads. The 5550A considerably improves on the accuracy of the 5522A, which is suitable for 5.5-digit DMMs, while offering more features. Featuring an intuitive graphical interface, the 5550A enables calibration of the most popular pocket multimeters with increased test uncertainty ratios (Tur), and current clamps up to 1,500 A with DC output (30 A).
The 5540A Multi-Product Calibrator is another new addition to the Fluke Calibration range. It extends the capabilities of the 5502A with higher performance levels, making it ideal for on-site or mobile calibration, for the most demanding field instrument applications. The 5540A is perfect for calibrating high-Tur 4.5-digit resolution pocket multimeters and current clamps up to 1500 A with DC output. Improvements over the 5502A include a 20 to 30 A increase in DC output current, and reduced standby times for intensive use. The temperature range of the calibration device is enhanced by a wider range of thermocouple types and a new quick-connect thermocouple connector. The 5540A can be fully calibrated using a Fluke 8588A 8.5-digit reference multimeter, combined with a shunt for the highest current range.
Wim Sibon, Fluke Calibration's Technical Sales Manager for Electrical Calibration in Europe, said: " In recent years, we have seen a growing demand from laboratories for greater precision in their calibration equipment, while at the same time looking for multi-product solutions that free up bench space and cut costs. The 5560A calibration instrument is exactly what the market needs, and will significantly improve the productivity of calibration laboratories worldwide. This will enable our customers to meet the demand for more accurate measurements with a less experienced workforce. "
" Fluke Calibration is committed to providing calibration laboratories with the broadest possible calibration capabilities. Our latest additions to the range will enable laboratory technicians to expand their existing uses with confidence. Models 5502A and 5522A have been widely used as universal tools in calibration laboratories for many years. We're delighted to take their capabilities to a much higher level with the 5540A and 5550A multi-product calibration instruments. Backed by over 50 years of continuous technical improvements, our range of powerful tools is the result of a lifelong commitment from some of the world's leading calibration experts. At Fluke Calibration, we're passionate about metrology. "
