Suction cup gripper basics
- Suction cups are usually made of nitrile rubber, silicone and polyurethane.
- The suction cup does not attach to the surface of the product, but it holds against it.
- A vacuum is created when the suction cup comes into contact with the product, drawing air in from the inside and creating a difference in pressure levels inside and outside the suction cup.
- The holding force depends on the difference between atmospheric pressure and the pressure inside the buffer.
