Presented at Micronora, Hexagon Metrology introduces a complete range of multisensor measuring systems under the Optiv brand. The range extends from benchtop multi-sensor coordinate measuring instruments to high-precision machines, capable of peak performance down to the nanometer range. The multi-sensor technology of the Optiv series combines optical and tactile measuring processes. Adapted to the 2D or 3D geometry, material, reflective properties and precision requirements of the object under test, measurements are carried out with or without contact, using the appropriate sensor. Optiv measures objects using the video sensor, the touch sensor, the TTL (Through-the-Lens) laser and the innovative Chromatic White Light Sensor (CWS). Mario Schroeder, Product Manager for the Optiv range, explains that " the use of PC-DMIS measurement software on all Optiv equipment standardizes the operating principle and considerably reduces training time. For decades, PC-DMIS has been the standard for CAD-based measurement programs. Today, the Vision version makes data acquisition and analysis functions available to optical measurement systems. "
Optiv equipment is used in particular for quality assurance of components in the automotive and aerospace industries, telecommunications and medical technology, as well as in the plastics and electronics industries, microsystems technology, and tool and mold making. Measuring machines are used, for example, to check the dimensional conformity of integrated circuits, medical implants, microlenses and ball grids.
