The Krohne BM 70 was in its time a pioneer in radar level sensors for process applications. After a commercial career of more than 20 years, it was withdrawn from the German manufacturer's commercial offer but its maintenance continues to be ensured.
Today, the irons of Krohne's lance in radar level sensors are the Optiwave 6300C (measurements on solid materials) and 7300C (measurements on liquids), which use several types of antennas (metallic conical or drop in synthetic material PTFE or PP) and use the FMCW technique (10 GHz beam with linear frequency sweep), which allows more stable measurements to be obtained than the pulse technique. Drop type antennas prevent any accumulation of products in applications in dusty environments.
