BM 70 from Krohne was a pioneer in radar level sensors for process applications. After a sales career spanning more than 20 years, it has been withdrawn from the German manufacturer's product range, but continues to be serviced.
Today, the spearheads of the Krohne in radar level sensors are the Optiwave 6300C (measurements on solid materials) and 7300C (measurements on liquids), which use several types of antenna (metal cone or drop in PTFE or PP synthetic material) and implement the FMCW technique (10 GHz beam with linear frequency sweep), which provides more stable measurements than the pulse technique. Drop antennas prevent product build-up in dusty environments.
