The French company has undergone major changes in shareholders, but its strategy remains unchanged: Trescal, which specializes in metrology services, continues its relentless movement of external growth. It has just bought the British company Antech Engineering (2.8 million euros), which now allows it to have 9 laboratories across the Channel for a staff of 400 people and a turnover of 32.6 million euros.
After the acquisition of American Dynamic Technology Inc. (DTI) in January 2011, the acquisition ofAntech Engineering is Trescal's second external growth operation since its LBO operation in 2010 (the capital of financial investors 3i and TCR Capital).
Trescal is from AirLiquide. The group, which gave it its current name in 2004, had the ambition to make it a global player in metrology. It continued to strengthen it through external growth operations before handing it over to Astorg in 2007, which pursued the same policy. The new change in structure in 2010 did not call this policy into question. Today, Trescal has 55 laboratories with a staff of 1,400 people and a consolidated turnover of 132 million euros.
