Created on March 28, 1988, by public institutions, professional and economic development organizations and companies, theInstitut Méditerranée de la Qualité (IMQ) has acquired solid expertise in dimensional metrology (it has a fleet of around ten measuring machines, representing an investment of €4 million). It is now entering a new phase in its history. It has joined forces with A + Metrology (group Apave) and this operation was accompanied by the creation of the " Regional Center for Innovation and Expertise in Metrology " (ICES). This entity will offer commercial services (i.e. for a fee), with the mission of providing regional SMEs and SMIs with a complete metrology service, in all fields and all physical quantities (one-stop-shop concept, directing companies to the service providers best suited to their needs). The ICES will be steered by A + Metrology.
Antonio Mazzei, Director ofIMQwelcomes this development: " We'll be able to refocus on our core business, i.e. strengthening our position as a technology partner and adapting metrology to business needs. IMQ is here to invent and innovate ".
