It is pursuing its external growth policy with the acquisition of TMC (Technical Manufacturing Corp.), an American company specializing in vibration isolation devices. The company's activities are highly complementary to those of its measurement instruments, since, as we all know, many measurements are impossible if the part or sample to be inspected is subjected to vibration.
TMC has 40 years' experience in vibration isolators. Its products are marketed in France by Photo Lines SAS (scientific applications) and Euris (semiconductor applications).
TMC will be integrated intoAmetekspecializes in precision measuring instruments for machine tools and production systems for the semiconductor, photovoltaic, military and ophthalmic markets. This division generated sales of $1.2 billion in 2010.
