Serge Ailhaud, 53, has been appointed to head SKF France as Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Jean Tournoux. SKF is best known for its bearings, lubricants and sealing solutions, but it is also an important player in the world of vibration measurement, particularly with condition-based maintenance solutions.
SKF is one of the world's leading suppliers of products and solutions to the bearing, service, sealing solutions, mechatronics and lubrication systems markets. The Swedish group has a turnover of nearly 7.5 billion euros and employs 46,000 people. In France, SKF's turnover amounted to 1.2 billion euros in 2011 with nearly 3,600 employees.
Serge Ailhaud joined SKF in 1982 as a Sales Engineer. His early career was marked by both technical and operational positions, involving national and then European responsibilities. From 2000 to 2005, he was more particularly involved in production at European level. From 2005, he took on global responsibilities in the strategic area of purchasing.
