Bureau Veritas announces the acquisition of Pockrandt, a German company specializing in non-destructive control services for power plant operators and manufacturers. Established in 1990, Pockrandt offers a full range of on-site and laboratory assessment and testing services during the construction and operation of conventional and nuclear power plants. Headquartered in Oberhausen, in the Rhine-Ruhr region (a strategic industrial hub in Germany), the company also operates in the Netherlands and Belgium. It has a laboratory and mobile testing units equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to assess the integrity of assets, including waterproofing and resistance tests of industrial equipment by ultrasound, X-ray and video endoscopy. Pockrandt employs 45 highly qualified employees and 2011 sales are expected to be around 4 million euros. This acquisition significantly increases Bureau Veritas' presence in non-destructive control in Germany and provides access to new European and German industrial customers. Following acquisitions in Singapore(Atomic Technologies),Malaysia(Scientige)and Japan(Tohoku X-Ray)since 2011, this is the fourth asset integrity management operation, in line with the 2015 strategic priorities set for the Industry division.
