The optritic bichromatic pyrometer CTratio 1M was designed for contactless measurement of temperatures in the range of 700 to 1800 degrees Celsius. Its operating principle allows precise measurements to be obtained even when the scope is severely disturbed, for example by smoke. This feature makes it particularly suitable for use in difficult conditions as they are encountered in the metal and glass industries.
By launching the CTratio 1M, Optris completes its high-performance series with a bichromatic pyrometer with optical cable. This instrument is ideal for implementation in high ambient temperatures up to 250oC where it requires no particular cooling. Unlike traditional connections, multi-fiber optical cables are made up of several intertwined fiberglass. This technique makes the fibres very resistant to rupture, so that the pyrometer can be used in hard-to-reach areas and labyrinthine passages of production lines. The available cable lengths range up to 22 m to cover many installation scenarios. Other benefits include a very fast response time (5 ms only) and a built-in aiming laser to mark the actual size of the spot.
Accurate measurements under the toughest industrial conditions
Thanks to the operating principle of bichromatic pyrometry (measuring two different wavelengths), this infrared pyrometer is very insensitive to dirty dust, fumes and observation windows. Thus, the measurements remain accurate even when the degree of staining of a window exceeds 90%. The pyrometer also provides reliable values when the target fills only 5% of the spot, or if it moves very quickly. This reliability of the infrared sensor allows the implementation of a process control and quality assurance in the most severe industrial conditions. By default, the measured data is released in analog form. As an option, six different TOR interfaces are available (USB, RS232, RS485, CAN, Profibus DP, Ethernet).
