The optris CTratio 1M bichromatic pyrometer has been designed for non-contact temperature measurement in the range 700°C to 1800°C. Its operating principle enables precise measurements even when the field of view is strongly disturbed, by smoke for example. This feature makes it particularly suitable for use in difficult conditions such as those encountered in the metal and glass industries.
By launching CTratio 1M, Optris completes its high-performance series with a bichromatic pyrometer with optical cable. This instrument is ideally suited to use in high ambient temperatures up to 250°C, where it requires no special cooling. Unlike traditional connections, multi-fiber optical cables are made up of several interwoven glass fibers. This technique makes the fibers highly resistant to breakage, so that the pyrometer can be used in hard-to-reach places and the labyrinthine passages of production lines. Cable lengths of up to 22 m are available to cover a wide range of installation scenarios. Other advantages include a very fast response time (just 5 ms) and an integrated aiming laser to mark the actual spot size.
Accurate measurements under the toughest industrial conditions
Thanks to the operating principle of bichromatic pyrometry (measuring two different wavelengths), this infrared pyrometer is highly insensitive to dust, smoke and dirty observation windows. As a result, measurements remain accurate even when the degree of soiling of a window exceeds 90%. The pyrometer also delivers reliable values when the target fills only 5% of the spot, or if it moves very quickly. This reliability of the infrared sensor makes it possible to implement process control and quality assurance under the toughest industrial conditions. By default, measured data are output in analog form. Six different digital interfaces are available as options (USB, RS232, RS485, CAN, Profibus DP, Ethernet).
