On Tuesday, March 27, 5 exhibitors were put in the spotlight during the Innovation Trophy night held for the first time at the Paris Nord-Villepinte Exhibition Park. A jury of professionals, including your Contrôles Essais Mesures magazine, decided to present the following awards:

Productivity category (product or service innovation aims to improve user productivity)
Winner: MITIS - vibratory drilling tool holder (Stand 4C77 - Implementation area: Tools)
The concept of vibration drilling, or SineHoling® process, consists of superimposing a low-amplitude piloted oscillation on the axial motion of the drill. Obtaining regular and optimal chip splitting eliminates chip jamming and reduces the risk of tool failure.

In this category, were nominated:

AIR LIQUIDE WELDING Australia - Digipuls II
CARL ZEISS SAS - Vast Performance Kit
MITUTOYO - Mach3A three-dimensional measuring robot
SPRING TECHNOLOGIES - SICOM - Scalable and Interoperable Corrective Maintenance
MITIS - vibratory drilling tool holder

Technology category (rewards the company that has best leveraged in a product or service the contribution of a new technology or technology usually reserved for another use)
laureate:  THERMI-LYON GROUPE – DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) vacuum coating (Stand 5O36 – Location area: UITS Village / Materials Processing)
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon), also known as amorphous carbon, is a thin-film anti-wear coating (< 3 µm), réalisé par les technologies des dépôts sous vide.

In this category, the following were nominated:
SORELIA – sensitive collar
MAHR – Formtester contour and surface finish
KOMET GROUP – Microkom® BluflexTM
SEM-O-JET – drilling head
THERMI-LYON GROUPE – DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) vacuum coating

Ergonomics category (man/machine interface, plug and play, these are the criteria that value the winner of this category)
Winner: TRAFIMET SPA - MIG TMAX new torch (Stand 5T13 - Implementation area: Welding)
It is recognized by welders that during labour, the arm muscles are less tired with the T-MAX torch than with a standard torch. In addition, its ergonomic handle with flu prevents the hand from slipping. The rounded curve of the swan collar, specially designed for aluminum wires, makes it easy to slide the wires, thus avoiding any pumping phenomenon. The trigger can be easily replaced without having to open the handle.

In this category, were nominated:
TECNOSPIRO MACHINE TOOL - ergonomic arm 3ARM
TRAFIMET SPA - MIG TMAX torch new
ELCOM - elcom concept system

Environment category (this category rewards the company's efforts in the field of eco-design, zero release or energy savings)
Winner: SIEMENS - "Ctrl-Energy" function (Stand 5053 - Implementation area: Machine tool)
The SINUMERIK Operate interface of the 840Dsl and 828D incorporates two new and innovative features, allowing operators to quickly assess their machine's electricity consumption. Simple and intuitive, these new features are launched by combining "Ctrl" and "E" keys on the control panel. An "Analysis" function determines the energy consumption, either of the SINAMICS drive system alone without additional equipment, or of the entire machine.

In this category, were nominated:
ABC SWISSTECH TRIBOFINITION - low-environmental tribofinition additives
FRONIUS France - DeltaSpot band point welding system
SIEMENS - "Ctrl-Energy" function

Safety category (this price will enhance the product that has improved its formula or operation to enhance the safety of the operator)
Winner: 3 NINE - Nova, oil mist purifier (Stand 5V95 - Implementation Area: Machine Tool)
Nova is the first purifier in the GreenLine range that operates on the patented principle of multi-rotor counterflow centrifuge and self-cleaning. Easy to install and efficient, the new GreenLine purifiers can capture 100% of the particles up to 0.9 micron with its H13 finisher filter, a unique result in the mechanical capture of oil mist. Separating oil mist from treated air, purifiers can process both whole oils and emulsions. The level of performance allows the fog from tHP or UGV machining to be treated. The combination of counter-current and self-cleaning ensures stable efficiency for all applications and all materials. Nova ensures an extremely clean and healthy work environment for operators, while reducing maintenance and consumables.

In this category, were nominated:
3 NINE - Nova, oil mist purifier
CRYSTAL CLEAR PROTECTION - WAV hood
SATECH SAFETY TECHNOLOGY - STRONG system

Jury's favourite for an "Ergonomic Technology" Innovation
KOMET GROUP - Microkom® BluflexTM (Stand 4E118 - Implementation Area: Tools)
The MicroKom® BluFlexTM precision welding system allows remote measurement of the drill heads for diameters of 6 to 215 mm. It consists of a self-balancing welding head, an electronic control key and a Bluetooth® wireless mobile control.
The use of this technology is new in the field of tool systems used in the world of metal removal. It offers remote adjustment facilities for setting the MicroKom® BluFlexTM system's welding heads.
