With its new XSense touch sensor technology, Atmel could revolutionize the design of most devices that use touch controls. These sensors come in the form of a thin, transparent and flexible film. As a transparent wire, with excellent optical transmission power, they can be used on touch screens to which they will bring greater brightness. But it is the "soft" side that attracts the most attention because it will free designers from the constraints imposed on them by the current touch sensors, usable on planes. From now on, they will be able to integrate their touch controls on curved surfaces or very close to the edges.
