Seven major measurement manufacturers, Symop and Cetim, are launching an innovative initiative: joining forces to develop and deliver training courses with certification for employees. The challenge is to develop the mastery and use of control technologies, often under-exploited in French industry, even though they improve product quality and competitiveness. The new French Committee for Training in Tridimensional Metrology ( COFFMET ) therefore has the task of spearheading this innovative approach to change through training. " Three-dimensional metrology is today an essential component of process control. for manufacturing complex mechanical parts, for the automobile industry or renewable energies, medical, aeronautics or rail. Despite the considerable benefits it provides, the use of these technologies is not optimal in France. One of the major explanations lies in the lack of qualification of the operators. The creation of COFFMET, which aims to offer adapted training, is a concrete response to these needs ”, specifies Daniel Jullien, president of the new association.
COFFMET is made up of 7 key companies in the metrology sector ( Carl Zeiss, Faro, Hexagon Metrology, Mitutoyo, Renishaw, Wenzel, Werth ), the Technical Center for Mechanical Industries ( Cetim ) and Symop . The originality is to create a synergy between these different actors to meet the needs of French industrial companies.
Inspired by "AUKOM", its model and German partner which has proven its worth, the Coffmet association provides comprehensive training, standardized and adapted to all measurement technologies. Three levels are offered: user, metrologist and expert metrologist. Intended for people using or wanting to adopt these metrology technologies, Coffmet sessions are all validated by an exam and obtaining a certificate.
The methodology applied takes into account the most recent requirements in the field of three-dimensional metrology.
The personnel concerned will thus see their professional career enhanced: the certificates issued will in fact eventually be recognized internationally ...
“ Coffmet offers the appropriate solutions to industrial companies who want to improve the quality of their products and their competitiveness through the use or optimization of metrology technologies. They are beneficial to the professional development of staff and represent for the company a guarantee of reliability to be promoted to its customers ”confirms Daniel Jullien. " Everyone wins ! "
The COFFMET initiative is in line with the “Productivez! ”Initiated by the Symop to promote the adoption of modern production machines and technologies and thus enable French industrial companies to improve their competitiveness. Information and training of PMIs is indeed strategic for the future of French industry: two years ago, in their conclusions, the General Assembly of Industry had already highlighted the deficit of 100 billion d euros of French industrial investment, with the consequences we know ...
