Faro Technologies presents the Vantage, a true tracking laser that combines both innovative new features and a portable design. Improvements such as SmartFind, MultiView as well as integrated WLAN speed up measurements. The reduction in size and weight makes the device transportable by plane as hand luggage, in the cabin.
Even though the Vantage is more compact (by 25%) and lighter (by 28%) than the previous model, FARO was able to include a new system of aligned optics that effectively improves the measuring range by 45% up to 80 meters (160 m in diameter).
SmartFind and MultiView, two of the innovative features, increase productivity while reducing measurement time. The SmartFind system responds to simple operator gestures and allows the Vantage to quickly detect the desired target in the event of a lost or interrupted beam. The patent-pending MultiView system uses two integrated cameras that allow users to automatically aim at specific hard-to-reach targets.
With other new features such as water and dust resistance to IP52 standards, operators can rely on the Vantage's reliable measurement in the event of precipitation or humidity, when these factors can adversely affect performance of other tracking lasers. Vantage's TruADM technology provides the precision needed for real day-to-day applications where the differences between absolute distance measurement (ADM) and interferometric measurements (IFM) are, on the whole, insignificant. Unlike technologies that require an interferometry measurement system to support their absolute distance measurement system, FARO's TruADM simplifies the measurement process. The improved predictive algorithms of this patented fifth generation technology allow dynamic measurements to be captured faster by simply scanning with the target.
