Sagemcom, Europe's leading interconnecter meter, takes control of the German leader in counting data management software. Through this acquisition, the Sagemcom Group, whose three major activities are energy management through its subsidiary Sagemcom Energy - Telecom, enriches its offer and confirms its ambition to become one of the world's leading players in intelligent counting solutions.
The contribution of Fr-schl's expertise in counting data processing software complements Sagemcom's current portfolio and is expected to accelerate the group's growth through the acquisition of new customers. By covering the entire value chain, from the communicating meters to the processing of the collected data, Sagemcom becomes one of the few players to be able to offer an offer that meets the future needs of energy operators.
Comprised of two companies(ITF, Industrie-Technik Fr-schl and EDV, Elektronische Datenverarbeitung),the Group employs 70 people and supports more than 250 clients worldwide in service and consulting.
With a turnover of nearly 1.5 billion euros and 4600 people worldwide, Sagemcom is the fastest growing player in the market for interconnecting meters (40% in 2011) and the only supplier to master the three solutions most requested by major European energy distributors.
With this acquisition, the Sagemcom Group is strengthening its subsidiary Sagemcom Energy - Telecom,at a time when the energy management market is growing rapidly. This transaction is part of the group's international development strategy, consolidating organic growth through targeted acquisitions enabling it to complement its offer and access new markets.
