The German company EnOcean gives shape to local energy recovery techniques to power wireless sensors and equipment. It is a question of recovering the thermal energy (heat), light (the sun) and above all mechanical (vibrations of a piping, linear or rotating movements of a support) present locally to power the equipment, and thus avoid problems related to batteries (which wear out and need to be regularly replaced).
EnOcean has just signed two agreements. The first is a worldwide distribution agreement with Farnell, one of the main players in the sale of electronic components on the internet. The second is a partnership with Japan's Rohm, which specializes in the development of components of all kinds, including wireless communication modules and MEMS miniature sensors.
