The German company EnOcean gives substance to local energy recovery techniques to power wireless sensors and equipment. The aim is to recover thermal (heat), luminous (sunlight) and above all mechanical (pipe vibrations, linear or rotary movements of a support) energy present locally to power the equipment, and thus avoid the problems associated with batteries (which wear out and need regular replacement).
EnOcean has signed two agreements in quick succession. The first is a worldwide distribution agreement with Farnellone of the main players in online sales of electronic components. The second involves a partnership with Japan's Rohma specialist in the development of components of all kinds, including wireless communication modules and miniature MEMS sensors.
