The young French company New Imaging Technologies (NIT) has just won the Vision Award 2012 at the prestigious Vision show in Stuttgart, which this year celebrated its 25th edition. The award is for its Magic3D platform. MAGIC (Contrast-indexed Image Generation Active Matrix) is a CMOS sensor that allows you to obtain very stable images in a single take and without going through multiple exposures, even if the observed scene has an extreme variety (over 120 dB) of light and dark areas.
The platform presented by NIT uses Lattice's ECP3 sensor and offers a resolution of 1280×1024 pixels for a dynamic of 140 dB.
Created in 2007, NIT comes from the university stream, and more specifically from theFrench National Institute of Telecommunications (now Telecom - Management SudParis).
