Based on the results of its recent analysis of the metrology services market, Frost & Sullivan has awarded Trescal the 2012 European Market Penetration Leadership Award. A market strategy of excellence based on sustained acquisitions and improved customer value has enabled the company to steadily expand its market share.
"Trescal has proven its operational and technical skills through its comprehensive metrology services, which include the installation and acquisition of measurement systems, custom-designed equipment, software solutions for the management of measurement and control systems, and the provision of metrology services.
management and support services," said Frost & Sullivan industry analyst Prathima Bommakanti.
"A true total solutions provider, Trescal has enjoyed a leading position over the past few years in terms of market share and penetration, but also end-user satisfaction," notes François Prospert, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Trescal. "Unlike its competitors, Trescal also takes care of equipment installation at customer sites, provides equipment fleet management solutions, and offers technical support services as well as training sessions on the metrology services market."
Over the years, the strategies adopted by the company (both internally and through acquisitions) to penetrate the metrology services market and thus acquire a leading position in the European market have been crowned with great success. In 2011, Trescal acquired Stork Intermes (leader in metrology services in the Benelux) and Antech Engineering Limited (leading provider of metrology services in pressure, temperature and flow measurement) for pro-forma sales of around €16.5 million. The company also focused its efforts on meeting the unmet demand of the
US market: in early 2011, Trescal acquired Dynamic Technology Inc (DTI), a major player in the US metrology services market. "These three acquisitions made by Trescal in the UK, US and Benelux have enabled the company to increase its pro-forma sales by around 30 % in 2011," said Guillaume Caroit, General Secretary. "
Alongside its efforts on collaborations and acquisitions, Trescal is also focusing its attention on its organic growth strategy (which was around 4 percent in 2011)." With 25,000 customers, Trescal has demonstrated its ability to respond effectively to the ever-growing needs of customers from the automotive, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and telecom segments, as well as the semiconductor sector.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Penetration Leadership is presented annually to the company that has demonstrated excellence by reporting the fastest rate of change in market share within its sector. The award recognizes a company's speed in increasing its market penetration, either in terms of sales or units, as specified.
