The Swedish group Hexagon, one of the world leaders in dimensional measurement, has just taken control of the American company New River Kinematics (NRK), which specializes in 3D analysis software for portable metrology applications. Founded in 1994, NRK was the first company to offer 3D graphics software for coordinates survey machines. Its current flagship product is the Spatial Analyzer software for 3D measurement applications at production sites, particularly in the navy and aeronautics.
Kinematics generated revenues of $13.3 million last year.
This acquisition is a continuation ofHexagon'sexternal growth policy, which annually acquires several companies in the world of dimensional measurement and geolocation. The group generated sales of around 2.3 billion euros in 2012.
