As part of its approval issued by DIRRECTE, Cemafroid has just been accredited by Cofrac for the periodic verification of thermometers to measure the temperature of perishable foodstuffs according to a repository inspired by ISO 17020 applicable to inspection activities.
It should be remembered that legal metrology concerns the verification of measuring instruments used in commercial transactions, judicial examinations or for measures that can be used as a basis for criminal prosecution or administrative decisions or sanctions such as petrol pumps, merchant scales or road speed cameras. As such, it applies to thermometers used by state agents who carry out temperature checks on perishable foodstuffs.
To carry out these operations, the Cemafroid already approved by DIRRECTE since 2008 and accredited Cofrac for its tests and calibrations since 2005, has obtained the accreditation of Cofrac legal metrology for periodic checks of thermometers. This certification attests that Cemafroid has the facilities and equipment, personnel, quality system, methods and procedures and independence, impartiality and integrity necessary to carry out regulatory audits.
The services performed in this context will now be materialized by the presence of the Logo Cofrac Metrology Leaon the cemafroid verification reports in addition to the regulatory compliance stickers of green (compliant instruments) or red (non-compliant instruments) affixed to the instruments themselves.
