Cetim plans to invest 11 million euros this year in new equipment linked to the material characterization testing market. This investment is a continuation of its materials characterization activities, whose testing business has increased by 25% in four years to reach a turnover of some 8 million euros.
In a few years, the aeronautics sector has become the leading customer sector of Cetim'scharacterization activities. New engine programs and increased aircraft production have, in fact, created a real boom in demand. As a result, the Centre is now a Tier 1 supplier for Safran and Airbus for testing metal and composite materials.
"Demand in this sector is on the verge of doubling by 2017. The requirements require certifications, testing, advanced multi-material skills and confidentiality guarantees, says Daniel Richet, Director of Regional and International Development. Cetim must keep up with this strong growth and provide solutions to major contractors. »
