Cetim has made a significant investment in its centre in St Etienne to support industrialists in the control and performance of their screwed assemblies. These include a high-capacity, high-speed tightening bench, and a powerful traction machine.
The high-capacity 10,000 N.m and high-speed tightening bench is used to characterize and qualify the threaded elements. It supports an effort of 1,300 kN and a temperature of 150 degrees Celsius with a speed of 500 rpm. The bench is used to measure and determine one or more characteristics of the tightening, including friction coefficients. In the field of elastic deformation, a linear relationship is assumed between torque and tightening force to calculate the net friction coefficient.
The 600 kN traction machine is intended for the mechanical characterization of glued, welded, screwed, riveted assemblies, but also complete assemblies (parts and subsets). It thus allows to verify compliance with standards or compliance with mechanical characteristics for specific needs. It supports tests at extreme temperatures ranging from -70 to 250 degrees Celsius with a load of 600 kN.It will also be used to validate the sizing of the assembly by correlation of tests and calculations, with a measure of non-contact deformation (image correlation) or contact (instrumentation)
