In many sectors, such as automotive, medical, cosmetics and optics, plastic injection molded parts demand impeccable surface quality. No trace of ejector or pressure sensor can be accepted. That's why Kistler has developed a new non-through-hole pressure sensor that measures pressure within the mold cavity, and above all, without leaving any trace on the injected part.
The new Type 9239A longitudinal sensor, with a diameter of just 3 mm, is installed in the mold just behind the bottom of the cavity, but without opening it. During the injection phase, it measures the deformation of the mold cavity, which is the image of the injection pressure.
Thanks to its small size (3mm), it is ideal for monitoring complex or multi-cavity molds. Like all other sensors in the Kistler range, it can be connected to monitoring electronics such as the market bestseller COMO INJECTION.
This new Type 9239A... sensor with a 3 mm diameter completes the range of non-through sensors which includes another Type 9247A... product with a 5 mm diameter.
