Bernard Doroszczuk has joined Cofrac as General Manager, following the departure at the end of October of Daniel Pierre, who had been General Manager since the organization's creation in 1994.
Until the end of August, Bernard Doroszczuk was Regional Director for the Environment and Energy (DRIEE) in the Île-de-France region, responsible for the Seine-Normandie basin.
He set up this department in 2010 by merging the regional directorate for industry, research and the environment (DRIRE), the regional directorate for the environment (DIREN), the police prefecture's classified installations department (STIIIC) and the water/environment department of the Seine navigation service (SNS). He was also territorial delegate for the Île-de-France region of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN).
Between 2003 and 2010, Bernard Doroszczuk was Director of the DRIRE and ASN's territorial delegate for the Centre and Île-de-France regions. Prior to this, he held various management and steering positions in central government in the fields of security, environment, nuclear safety and metrology. In the 1990s, he worked for eight years at Bureau Veritas in the fields of industrial inspection and management system certification. He began his career in the public sector in the early 1980s, working in pressure equipment safety and the transport of hazardous materials.
In the various positions he has held, both centrally and regionally, in the private and public sectors, he has been constantly involved with safety, security, health and environmental protection issues, in the vicinity of hazardous installations, in public places and in the workplace. He has been directly confronted with the practices of inspection and testing, inspection and certification in assessing compliance with national and European standards and regulations.
Since the beginning of November, he has succeeded Daniel Pierre as Cofrac's General Manager.
