The Institut de Welding Group announces the entry into office at the beginning of November of its new president: Sylvain de Lescazes.
Sylvain de Lescazes has chosen to join the Welding Institute after more than 36 years with the Total Group, mainly in the field of refining and marketing. In recent years, he has led Total Saudi Arabia and represented the Total Group in Saudi Arabia.
An engineer by training and a technology enthusiast, Sylvain de Lescazes is pleased to chair a Group whose main drivers are technology, innovation and training. Over the next few years, it intends to give the Welding Institute Group all the means useful to further its development, especially internationally. In addition, he is very committed to the role of technical reference of the Institute of Welding association in the world of assembly and associated controls, he will ensure that the association continues to provide its members and the profession with the knowledge, innovation and support they expect. To this end, it will deploy a strategy focused on the development of research and training and on the Group's capacity for innovation. He will be assisted in this task by Abdelkrim Chehaibou, Director General of the Welding Institute Association and Didier Etheve, Executive Director of the Institute of Welding Industry.
