Goodfellow, a leading supplier of metals and materials for research and industry, has signed a global marketing and distribution of its materials range with Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, a leading company in the life sciences and high technology fields.
Through the Aldrich Materials Science Initiative, the agreement signed now expands the availability of 10,000 Goodfellow references that include pure metals, alloys, ceramics and polymers. This range will grow in the coming months to include the full list of 70,000 references in Goodfellow's catalogue, some of which are exclusive to the company. Goodfellow products will also remain available directly from Goodfellow and its existing partners, and Goodfellow will also continue to provide technical consulting and support services to all customers.
Stephen Aldersley, Chairman and CEO of Goodfellow, sees this new relationship with Sigma-Aldrich as a development opportunity for the research sector. "Sigma-Aldrich is the international leader in the supply of materials in the research market. With a presence in 40 countries, Sigma-Aldrich is able to offer researchers access to our product range worldwide. Optimizing the availability of our metals, alloys, ceramics and materials, all over the world, can offer very important research sectors the possibility of continuous growth. Highlighting Sigma-Aldrich's global involvement in any science that improves quality of life, Bryce P. Nelson, Head of Aldrich Materials Science, said, "The addition of the Goodfellow range expands the already established family of products for materials engineers and researchers, thereby fostering scientific innovation." Under the terms of the agreement, Aldrich Materials Science now markets and distributes Goodfellow materials in most geographic areas of the world. All products will be available worldwide from April 2015.
