The American group Ametek (about $2 billion in sales) has just completed a new external growth operation: it has just taken control of the Swiss company Teseq ($53 million in sales), specialized in electromagnetic compatibility tests (both in issue and reception). The transaction is $92 million. As is often the case in such cases, Ametek bought a skill in a trade, plus geographic coverage.
Within the group, Teseq appears very complementary to EMC, bought in 2011. It should be remembered that Teseq was created following the Schaffner Group's decision to give its test and measurement business its independence. Ametek also sells many product lines in the world of measurement, electronics and electromechanics. It has dozens of brands: in the field of sensors and instruments, the best known are Lloyd, Ortec, Solartron, Spectro and Taylor Hobson
