FARO Technologies, Inc (NASDAQ: FARO), the world's most trusted source for 3D measurement, imaging and realization technology, announces the release of CAM2 Measure 10.3, its all-new software for the FaroArm, FARO ScanArm and FARO Laser Tracker.
CAM2 Measure 10.3 provides a complete solution for contact and non-contact metrology. With its new capabilities and enhanced functions, customers benefit from a single partner offering integrated software and hardware solutions, backed by a global network of technical support.
"The new CAM2 Measure 10.3 meets customers' need for a single intuitive solution for tactile measurement, digitization and point cloud management. Perfectly adapted to the coming challenges in metrology, a field in which digitization will play an increasingly important role, the new version will enable our customers to improve their processes and products with great efficiency", says Ralf Drews, Managing Director of FARO Europe.
CAM2 Measure 10.3 can be used with the majority of FARO's leading metrology products, such as the FARO ScanArm for CAD-to-part analysis, and is ideally suited to tasks such as the inspection of freeform and complex shapes, or even soft or flexible materials that are difficult to inspect with a probing measurement system.
New functions such as cut analysis, point cloud recording, deviation markers and enhanced Live Colour Scan support the user and maximize the customer experience in terms of data collection and point cloud analysis. These new features simplify and accelerate the measurement process, guiding operators through tactile measurement and scanning activities.
Cross-section analysis enables 2D analysis of scanned data over a well-defined CAD area. Users can extract dimensions (radius, angle, height) for analysis, add markers to define locations where labels will highlight deviations, and define the best view for reports.
With the point cloud saving function, users can merge two or more separate point clouds of the same part. This is very useful when the user needs to change the position of an already scanned part to scan another side, or when the scanning device needs to be moved and scanned from this new position without having to reference the device's new position.
Thanks to the gap marker function, users can preset the areas where detailed analysis is required. The software simplifies the measurement process by indicating to operators the areas where data should be collected.
Live Colour Scan increases the efficiency of the scanning process. Users can quickly scan free-form parts and check their quality in real time. The software provides immediate color-coded feedback on deviations from the CAD model during the scanning process itself, enabling inconsistencies to be identified quickly and easily. No further analysis of the scan is required.
