FARO Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: FARO), the world's most reliable source of 3D measurement, imaging and production technology, announces the release of CAM2 Measure 10.3, its newest software for FaroArm, FARO ScanArm and FARO Laser Tracker.

CAM2 Measure 10.3 provides a complete metrology solution with and without contact. With new capabilities and enhanced features, customers have the advantage of having a single partner that offers integrated software and hardware solutions with a global network of technical support.

"The new CAM2 Measure 10.3 meets customers' need for a single intuitive solution for touch measurement, scanning and point cloud management. Perfectly suited to the challenges ahead in metrology, an area in which digitization will play an increasingly important role, the new version will enable our customers to improve their processes and products with great efficiency," said Ralf Drews, Managing Director of FARO Europe.

CAM2 Measure 10.3 can be used with the majority of FARO's flagship metrology products, such as the FARO ScanArm for CAD-piece analysis and is ideal for tasks such as controlling free and complex shapes, or even flexible or flexible materials that are difficult to inspect with a palpage measurement system.

New features such as cutting analysis, point cloud recording, gap markers, and improved Live Colour Scan assist the user and maximize the customer experience in data collection and point cloud analysis. These new features simplify and speed up the measurement process by guiding operators through their touch measurement and scanning activities.

Cross-section analysis allows 2D analysis of digitized data over a well-defined area of CAD. Users can extract dimensions (ray, angle, height) for analysis, add markers to define locations where labels will highlight discrepancies, and define the best view for reports.

With the point cloud recording feature, users can merge two or more separate point clouds from the same room. This is very useful when the user has to change the position of an already scanned part to scan another side or when the scanning device needs to be moved and scanned from that new position without having to reference the new position of the device.

With the gap marker function, users can preset areas where detailed analysis will be required. The software simplifies the measurement process by telling operators where the data should be collected.
The Live Colour Scan feature increases the efficiency of the scanning process. Users can quickly scan free-form parts and monitor their quality in real time. The software provides immediate feedback using a color-coded color code that indicates deviations from the CAD model during the scanning process itself, allowing for easy and rapid identification of inconsistencies. No further scanning analysis is required.
