Nicolas Orance, President of the EMC2 cluster, and Karine Daniel, Vice-President of Nantes Métropole in charge of higher education and research, have just signed a partnership agreement. The aim of the agreement is to support the development of EMC2 and stimulate innovation, in order to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the region.
This agreement formalizes a long-standing collaboration and exchange between Nantes Métropole and the EMC2 cluster. It creates a crucial interface for the challenges to be met collectively, such as the convergence between the manufacturing industry and the digital world, which is coming together via the NantesTech initiative, or the launch of the Jules Verne Manufacturing Valley label, symbolizing an expert manufacturing ecosystem.
Nantes Métropole's support, amounting to €150,000 over three years, focuses on three strategic areas:
- support for SMEs and mid-sized companies,
- the cluster's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),
- international visibility and appeal
For Karine Daniel, "Signing this agreement enables us to affirm three major challenges for Nantes Métropole: maintaining and developing industrial jobs, enhancing the attractiveness of our region and promoting innovation. The EMC2 cluster fosters fertile encounters between players and develops an ecosystem of innovation and cooperation, reflecting what we want for our metropolis.
Nicolas Orance said: "For EMC2, the signing of this partnership agreement with Nantes Métropole is genuine recognition of the work we've done to enhance the region's attractiveness and competitiveness. By building a dynamic innovation ecosystem over the past 10 years, bringing together industrial and academic players in the field of advanced manufacturing, we have demonstrated our ability to serve local economic development.
