SKF continues its commitment to research and development and North America by investing in a new global technical center in the United States, in the Chicago area. The centre will initially employ approximately 80 engineers during its first four years of operation and this figure is expected to reach 200 in subsequent years.
This centre reinforces SKF's strategy to establish these centres close to its most important customers in order to prioritize market-specific product innovations, using SKF's five platforms: bearings and roll sets, waterproofing solutions, mecatronics, lubrication systems and services.
Two centres have recently opened in China and India and two new European centres are under construction, in Holland and Sweden.
