On September 1st, the Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux became Bordeaux INP!
This change in identity is part of the institution's new development strategy, which focuses on research and technology transfers. Bordeaux INP projects are numerous in order to meet ambitious targets by 2017:
- Endorsing an Industrial Chair at each of the 7 technology transfer trays;
- develop interactions between the activity carried out on these plateaus, the structures hosted, the schools and the common laboratories of Bordeaux INP;
- Develop the visibility of these interactions and relationships with companies;
- become a major player in the innovation value chain.
Bordeaux INP already has 11 co-tutel laboratories and 7 technology transfer trays, to which will be added 2 other projects this fall:
CATIE (Aquitain Center for Computer and Electronic Technologies): Associated with theDigital AquitaineDigital Unit, CATIE will help SMEs/ETIs in the territory accelerate the development of their innovative products. Specializing in user-centered design,it will be a vehicle for spreading this new concept to industrialists in the region.
- FONTAULAB: Bordeaux INP, represented by two of its schools, ENSC and ENSEIRB-MATMECA, is a founding member of the FontauLab association, initiated by the Bordeaux Unitec technopole. FontauLab is the 1st-high in digital businesses combining coworking space, Fab Labs and Living Labs.
FontauLab will enable companies to design and experiment innovative services or products directly with end-users, in the early childhood, disability and silver economy sectors.
The aim of Bordeaux INP is to foster and accelerate innovation within companies.
